Congenital intestinal obstruction is one of the serious surgical conditions encountered in newborns and children and requires early recognition and timely treatment. Delayed diagnosis may lead to intestinal ischemia, perforation, peritonitis, severe metabolic disturbances, and an increased risk of postoperative complications. This article evaluates the clinical features of congenital intestinal obstruction in children, the role of early diagnostic methods, and the effectiveness of surgical treatment. Particular attention is paid to the onset of symptoms, abdominal distension, bilious vomiting, failure to pass meconium or stool, and general deterioration of the child’s condition. The diagnostic value of plain abdominal radiography, ultrasonography, and other imaging methods is also considered. Surgical treatment outcomes are assessed according to the type of obstruction, timing of surgery, postoperative recovery, duration of hospital stay, and development of complications. Early diagnosis and timely surgical intervention are important factors in improving treatment outcomes and reducing the risk of severe complications in children with congenital intestinal obstruction.
